Requirements
- University education in law or significant work experience in criminal justice and/or law enforcement (the latter required for police
corrections officer training)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in the practice of law, e.g. judges, prosecutors, lawyers, etc
- Extensive knowledge of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the conflict and its consequences
- Professional fluency in the English language, both oral and written
Responsibilities
- Develops the Department's portfolio relating to the processing of war crimes, and other highly sensitive cases, and the legal reform needs
of the criminal justice system. Includes working with interlocutors within the judiciary and prosecutors offices, and providing support to
reform processes undertaken in that regard
- Together with the Legal Advisor for War Crimes and Transitional Justice, co-ordinates the work of the Rule of Law Monitoring Assistants
and the National Trial Monitoring Officer assigned to the State Court for the monitoring of war crimes and other highly sensitive cases
- Develops, implements and co-ordinates activities in the field designed to support those areas where the Mission can support the
implementation of strategic reforms at the local level
